Highest Recommendations...

Tongariro Crossing (No. 1)

For many tourists, this is the highlight of their visit to the Tongariro National Park.  Described as the "best one day hike in New Zealand", it covers 17 km of varied terrain from volcanic craters to open tussock country to virgin forest. More...

Our Other Recommendations...

Northern Circuit
This is one of the “Great Walks” of New Zealand passing over unique volcanic landscape and through glacial valleys. It normally takes 3 days. Our shuttle can take you to the start and pick you up at the finish at your convenience.

Lake Rotopounamu
This is one of the jewels of the Tongariro National Park - so serene and beautiful. This walk is easily stretched out to 2 hours with many stops along the way to admire the white sandy beaches surrounded by untouched native forest.

Taranaki Falls Walk
Starting at Whakapapa Village this walk takes you out to the Falls and back. I recommend doing the walk clock wise. This means you have the nicer views on the way home. Allow  2.5 hours. Great views of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe.

Silica Rapids
Again starting at Whakapapa Village I recommend walking up the road first and then returning to Whakapapa Village on the track. Just a nicer way to finish. Allow 2.5 hours. A very nice walk.
